Scene Shop Foreman
Meadow Brook Theatre located on the Campus of Oakland University, in Rochester, Michigan is accepting applications for Scene Shop Foreman. This season MBT will produces 7 shows and will remount A Christmas Carol. This position is covered under an IATSE contract (applicant does not need to hold an IATSE card). The Shop Foreman can also could be pulled to run a show or help with other departments as needed.
Requirements
3 yrs. professional experience minimum
AutoCAD experience
Ability to read and comprehend technical drawings
Knowledge and ability to follow and enforce shop safety procedures
Strong organizational and time management skills
Proficient with hand and power tool use and basic repairs
Experience leading crews of 3-8
Strong knowledge of scenery construction.
Able to lift at least 60lbs
Able to work at heights of 25’
Basic Welding
Basic rigging
Clean driving record
Can drive a 26ft truck
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Multitasking skills
Highly motivated and willing to learn.
Good attitude and work ethic.
Sense of humor
Ability to take instruction and feedback from supervisors.
Preferred Skills
Basic scenic painting
Lighting skills
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Construction, load-in and strike all scenic elements.
Maintain a safe work environment, following all safety procedures and guidelines as outlined by the Technical Director
Picking up materials/transporting scenic elements.
Theatre maintenance
Could run shows
Cleaning

We are currently accepting resumes/applications for our 2025-2026 season internship program. We fully produce 6 shows a season and remount A Christmas Carol every season. We are looking for versatility in our interns with the ability to work in several different departments and a “positive can-do attitude”.
Positions/descriptions available:
1 Acting/Administration Interns - MALE PRESENTING
Would understudy for all shows - including 3 musicals
Would audition for all shows and be considered for roles
Would receive Equity candidacy points
Would work in the administration office, box office and help run raffle table
Would possibly be on the backstage crew
Would be involved in all light hang and focus calls
Specific Details include:
Contract Dates are approx. Late August 2025 to (end of) June 2026
$499.20 per week (housing is not provided)
Cleaning and lending support to assigned department as well as other departments as needed
40 hours a week (overtime will be honored)
Load-ins, strikes, light hangs, airport runs, etc.

Marketing Coordinator (Full-Time)
This role is a highly-autonomous and ideal for a self-starter, working directly under the supervision of MBT's Director of Development and Marketing.
MBT’s Marketing Coordinator is responsible for all marketing: press photos, social media management, design of the theatre’s programs, and design of all print and digital advertisements. In conjunction with Director of Marketing and Development, responsible for securing advertisers for the theatre’s programs

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
DESIGN
Design and create programs for 7 productions each season
Design and create postcards, brochures, posters, and other materials
Design and create lobby display materials for each production such as headshot boards, banners, donor boards, and show signage
Design and create a variety of digital and print advertisements such as newspaper ads, billboards, and commercials
PRESS
Edit official press photos for distribution
Opportunity to attend photoshoots for each performance
In conjunction with the Director of Development and Marketing, Promote and announce news and events
WEBSITE & SOCIAL MEDIA
Website and social media maintenance
Daily management, content creation, and posting on social media outlets such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, etc.
Create social media Meta and Google ad campaigns
Update and maintain content on the website throughout the season
Evaluate additional social media avenues
DEVELOPMENT & OUTREACH
Maintain both community outreach efforts and campus outreach efforts
Identify, create, and organize discount ticket offers, complimentary ticket offers, coupon books, and special promotions to attract new customers
Work directly with the Director of Development and Marketing to assist with organization outreach and distribution of fundraising materials
Execute, and attend Meadow Brook Theatre fundraising events, donor acknowledgement events, and other special events
Assist with marketing materials and implementation of Concert and Cuisine, MBT's summer benefit event
Organize and maintain a donor database for tracking donors, charitable contributions, and measuring outcomes
OTHER
Assist the Meadow Brook Theatre Guild with design and coordination of postcards, brochures, posters and other materials
Create and send email blasts promoting current productions and upcoming events
Negotiate contracts with multiple advertising agencies at the start of each season
Maintain a marketing calendar for the theatre season
Other duties as assigned
Maintain and update Printify shop through Squarespace
Working in conjunction with Group Sales Manager to track advertiser payments for playbills and send invoice with sample program each show
Job Type: Full-time
Some evenings and weekends will be required
Salary: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
