Oakland University unexpected shutdown affects scheduled performance during previews and opening weekend of A Christmas Carol
Oakland University will be closing the campus due to emergency repairs needed to the high temperature hot water (HTHW) pipe system serving numerous key facilities across campus. The closure will start Friday, November 21, and continue through
5 p.m. Sunday, November 30. Meadow Brook Theatre and the OU Rec Center are able to stay open until 9 p.m. Friday, November 21.
This closure will affect performances of A Christmas Carol on November 22 (2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.), November 23 (2 p.m.), November 28 (7 p.m.), November 29 (2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.) and November 30 (2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.). Scheduled performances will resume on Wednesday, December 3 at 2 p.m.
Meadow Brook Theatre is honoring all tickets bought for the canceled performances and is exchanging the tickets for any other performance of A Christmas Carol at no additional charge to the ticket holders.
“We are saddened that any of the performances of A Christmas Carol are being affected, and the box office will be working with our patrons to find a new date to attend.” says Cheryl Marshall, MBT managing director. “We know some patrons have received a cancelation notice from Ticketmaster, so please contact the box office to get your ticket reissued.”
